- All postal, fax and email queries will be answered in the order we receive them. None are given priority over any other
- We aim to reply to all enquiries within 10 working days. Requests should be clear and as specific as possible
- For an initial query we will only undertake 15 minutes free research time. A reply will then be sent with any findings and will state any further research will be charged at £18 per hour. When requesting searches of the Civil Registration Index this will be approximately 3 years only for a birth, marriage or a death.
- The search fee for any type of research by the office is £18 per hour. Please send you payment on request.
- Up to 3 photocopies will be included in any paid research free of charge, excess of this number will be charged at 15p per A4 copy or 25p for A3.
- The only exception to the research charges is a search of the Vehicle Licensing Records which will cost £5. This includes a photocopy of the registration card or volume.
- We only accept sterling cheques made payable to “Greater Manchester County Record Office”
- We do not have a facility to accept payment by credit/debit cards.
- We reserve the right not to supply copies if this may result in documents being damaged.
