Victorian Manchester

Victorian Manchester Cotton Industry Local Newspapers Lunatic Asylums

This pack has been designed to complement the national curriculum and can be used with children studying unit 11a – Victorian Britain, and unit 7 – local history. The pack consists of images (from the late nineteenth/early twentieth century) of Victorian Manchester and activities based around these images.

The pack contains images of central Manchester,  ‘Brooks Bank, Chancery Lane’, ‘Oxford Road and Longford Mills’, ‘Portland Street Warehouses’ and the ‘Central Station’. These can be down-loaded and printed for the children to have in front of them. There are questions accompanying each image for children to answer and associated activities to undertake.
